Yamunotri Temple, built in the 19th century by Maharani Gularia of Jaipur, has witnessed destruction and reconstruction twice in the present century. At Yamunotri, an intriguing tradition allows pilgrims to cook rice by packing it in cloth and immersing it in the hot waters of the Tapt Kund. Pilgrims carry this cooked rice home as a sacred "Prasad." Additionally, near the temple, you have the opportunity to offer "Pooja" to Divya Shila.
Surya Kund: There are several thermal springs near the temple, which flow into numerous pools. The most important of these is Surya Kund.
Divya Shila: A rock pillar, worshipped before entering the Yamunotri Temple.
Yamunotri Weather - In summer the maximum temp is 18 degrees and the minimum is 10 degrees Celsius. The days are pleasantly cool but the nights are cold.
